Located on the waterfront between Barangaroo and Cockle Bay Wharf, King Street Wharf has long been associated with nightlife. From the departing Harbour Cruises, to satisfying the after-work office crowd and catering to late night revellers at Bungalow 8 or Cargo, King Street Wharf has a lot to like after dark.
But King Street Wharf transforms into a family friendly kids playground during the weekend.
The nine-wharf long promenade houses fifteen restaurants, which all create a giant kids-zone. From kids-eat-free specials to face painting and kids pizza making classes, here’s a quick glance at all the fun:
Bungalow 8: This tropical-themed restaurant offers plenty of seating with easy access for prams and strollers. The Kids Play Area has a graffiti wall where kids can channel let their inner Picasso and is open until 3pm on Sundays. Active kids will love the bowling green and giant Jenga game. The kid’s menu doubles as a colouring sheet so even table-bound bubs can stay occupied during lunch.
Cargo: Located just minutes away from the Sydney Aquarium, Madame Tussauds and the Australian Wildlife Park, Cargo Bar sure comes in handy if you have a mob of ‘hangry’ kids. Your hip pocket won’t have to suffer with a free kids meal with every adult main meal order each Sunday.
Nick’s Bar & Grill: Nick’s extensive menu caters to gourmands of all shapes and sizes. For just $14.50 kiddies get a soft drink, a main-course (Calamari & Chips, Fish & Chips, Chicken Tenderloins & Chips or a Pasta Napolitana) with chocolate mousse or ice-cream for dessert! Parents should take advantage of the $48 Lobster special too. C’mon, spoil yourself!
Casa Ristorante: Italians know a thing or two when it comes to la familigia. Indulge in a long family lunch and eat your way through the menu from antipasto, pizza, pasta to the mouth-watering tiramisu. The bambinos can even learn a few pizza tricks from Salvatore D’Avalo, the Pizza Maestro. Adult and kids pizza making classes require bookings.
Manjit’s at the Wharf: Manjit’s at the Wharf has long been a popular option for mummies and mummy-bloggers alike thanks to the exceptional Indian hospitality. The staff will go above and beyond to ensure infants and toddlers have a great time with highchairs and colouring books available.
King Street Wharf is located near public transport (with a choice of train, bus, ferry and light-rail options). Speak to the staff at your venue of choice to redeem your parking ticket, some restaurants have car park deals with the nearby Wilson Car Park.
