Sydney Harbour Cruises from King Street Wharf
Six cruise operations board from this one stretch of promenade, and from the footpath they look more alike than they are. One is a dinner theatre. One is built almost entirely of glass. One is a catamaran doing buffet lunches. Two do not sell seats at all, only whole boats. This page lays them out so you can choose on something other than whichever sign you walked past first.

The three ticketed dining boats
If you want to buy individual seats and be fed, these are the three. All are operated by Australian Cruise Group and book through one reservations desk.
Sydney Showboats
Dinner and a live cabaret show, boarding at Wharf 5.
Clearview
A glass boat built so every seat has the view.
Magistic
Buffet lunch, dinner and sightseeing on a catamaran.
If you want the whole boat
Flagship Cruises is a charter agency rather than a single vessel: it matches an event to a boat from a fleet that includes superyachts, catamarans and sailing boats, so the starting point is your group size and the occasion rather than a departure time. Starship Sydney and Starship Aqua are two glass vessels chartered for corporate events, weddings, school formals and milestone birthdays, boarding at King Street Wharf 4.
Festival and event cruises
During Vivid Sydney the operators run dedicated light festival departures, three a night, and the projections on the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House are designed to be seen from the water. Dated cruises also run for Australia Day, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve. These sell separately from the standard departures and the popular dates go early.
What about ocean cruises
MSC Cruises calls at Sydney as part of much longer itineraries. Large ships do not berth at King Street Wharf, so if you have a few hours rather than a few weeks, the operators above are the ones you want.
Getting here
Check which berth you are leaving from before you arrive, because the operators board from different points along the promenade. The wharves guide explains the numbered berths, the getting here guide covers transport and walking routes, and the parking guide covers driving.
